Day 9: More Albuqueque and our first National Park!
We got the heck out of the campground asap and headed for the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History. The museum was huge and had lots of info. Jeff really enjoyed it and we ended up spending almost 2 hours there.
From there it was onto Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. We took a 1.2 mile hike and saw these beautiful rocks and some amazing scenery. I was not a fan of the snake warnings though!
Finally, tired from the night before, we decided to head to Taos NM. The drive started as a ride through nothing. Really it is so remote and flat, until we drove through the mountains and saw the Rio Grande River. The drive suddenly turned into something really beautiful and diverse from what we are use to seeing.
We looked at the weather tonight. The low is suppose to be 48 degrees and a chance of rain.. UM I don't think so.... hotel again! Tomorrow we head towards Colorado.
