Day 8: Amarillo Texas and Old Town Albuqueque, oh and a wind storm of all wind storms
First stop this morning required us to be a little naughty! Yup we made it to the cadillac ranch where they encourage people to graffiti cadillacs that have been half buried in the ground. I have been looking forward to this since I found it in my planning stages! We were not disappointed, and did our tagging then passed our extra paint to some other tourists that were there!

After the ranch we drove to Albuquerque NM. We arrived fairly early so we went to Old Town which is a part of the city. Here there are old adobe buildings that house shops and in the middle was a nice park where they play music and a beautiful church. We walked around for a while, both bought something and then headed to the singing highway.
Yup you heard right. Thanks to my sister Cindy who had heard of the highway, we went looking and found it. Here you drive exactly 45 mph with your tires in blue painted lines and you hear America the Beautiful.

To end the day, we chose a KOA to spend the night. When we got there it was very hot, but we settled in, Jeff went for a swim and we had dinner. Later when we were sleeping, the wind picked up. It was going at least 30mph. Inside the tent the sides were violently shaking, it was incredible. We did our best to stick it out, but at 3am we thought the tent was going to rip so we collapsed the legs and slept in the car! Woke up to it still being windy and hit the road!
